IHFN is proud to offer its members the opportunity to take part in a Mi’kmaw Language Camp! Facilitated by the Mi’kmaw Heritage Research and Restoration Association, this free series will provide 40 members with a basic introduction to the Mi’kmaw language.
The camp will take place over four days at the St. George’s location of the People of the Dawn Indigenous Friendship Centre, 329 Main Street. The first two sessions will take place on August 1st & 2nd (Thursday & Friday) from 6:30–8:45pm, and the next session will be on August 3rd (Saturday) from 3:00–8:45pm. Finally, there will be two sessions on August 4th and 5th (Sunday & Monday) from 10:00am–5:00pm. On the final day, certificates will be handed out after a 2-hour instruction period.
Snacks will be provided on August 1st and 2nd. There will be pizza served on the 3rd. On the 4th, there will be a continental breakfast as well as a lunch. On the 5th, there will be a snack and a feast.
